CRM | Nutshell Integration

How to connect Nutshell so every call Rosie answers is logged on the right contact automatically.

A customer calls, Rosie answers, and you get the details by text or email — but Nutshell has no idea the call happened. If Nutshell is where you run your contacts and pipeline, that's a gap you end up filling in by hand, or not at all.

Connect Nutshell to Rosie and every call logs itself. Rosie recognizes callers who are already in your contacts, creates a contact for first-time callers, and logs each call on the right person. Texts and website chats get logged too.

Setup takes a couple of minutes and it's included on every Rosie plan.

How It Works

  1. Connect Nutshell from the Integrations page in Rosie.

  2. When a call ends, Rosie looks the caller up in Nutshell by phone number.

  3. If they're already a contact, the call is logged on them. If they're new, Rosie creates the contact first.

  4. The call appears as a logged phone call on the contact's timeline, with a summary of what was discussed and a link back to the full call details in Rosie.

That's it. There's nothing else to configure in Nutshell and nothing new to teach Rosie.

Connecting Nutshell

You'll need two things from Nutshell: the email you sign in with and an API key. Nutshell checks the two together.

  1. In Nutshell, go to Settings → Connections → API keys and add a key for Rosie.

  2. Choose the API access permission. The form-only option Nutshell preselects can't read your contacts, so Rosie can't recognize callers with it.

  3. In Rosie, go to Integrations and select Nutshell.

  4. Enter your Nutshell login email and paste the API key.

  5. Select Connect. Rosie checks the details on the spot and starts logging new calls right away.

What Gets Logged

Calls — every call Rosie answers becomes a logged phone call on the contact in Nutshell, timed to match how long the call actually ran, with a summary of the conversation and a link to the full details in your Rosie dashboard. If the call has a recording, the link to it rides along and stays playable for 30 days.

Texts and website chats — each conversation gets logged as a note, written once the conversation wraps up so the single note covers the whole exchange.

New callers — first-time callers become new Nutshell contacts automatically, with their name and phone number filled in. If a caller doesn't share their name, you still get the contact — it comes in with just their phone number, and Rosie fills in the name if they give it on a later call.

Existing contacts — Rosie matches by phone number, so there are no duplicates. If a contact is missing a name or email, Rosie fills it in; she never overwrites information you already have, and she never touches the phone numbers on the record.

Disconnecting

You can disconnect anytime from the Integrations page — open Nutshell and select Disconnect. Rosie stops logging immediately. Everything she's already added to Nutshell stays right where it is.

FAQs

Which Nutshell plan do I need?
Any of them. API keys come with every Nutshell plan, trials included.

Rosie logged a note instead of a phone call. Why?
Rosie logs the call using your account's own phone-call activity type. If that type has been renamed or removed in Nutshell, she falls back to a note so the call still gets recorded. Adding a phone call activity type back in Nutshell puts the call entries back.

Rosie says my key was rejected. What do I check?
Two things: the email has to be the one you sign in to Nutshell with, and the key needs the API access permission. The form-only permission Nutshell offers first can't read contacts.

My connection stopped working. What happened?
Almost always the key was deleted or replaced in Nutshell. Create a new one under Settings → Connections → API keys and reconnect in Rosie.

How long are call recordings available?
The recording link is playable for 30 days. The call summary and details stay on the contact permanently.

What happens if the caller is already in my Nutshell?
Rosie finds them by phone number and logs the call on their existing contact — no duplicate people.

Can Rosie book jobs or appointments in Nutshell?
No — this integration logs calls, texts, chats, and contacts. Appointment booking works through your connected calendar, same as always.

Can I connect more than one CRM?
One CRM per Rosie account. If you switch CRMs, disconnect the old one first.

Does this cost extra?
No. CRM integrations are included on every Rosie plan.
